Brian Hart: Singing in Irish and English, Tin Whistle, Concertina

Brian Hart has recently moved to Chicago from his home town of St. Louis. He is a champion All-Ireland traditional singer and has the distinction of being the only American with that title. He is a great concertina and whistle player! Brian has two MA degrees-one in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the University of Limerick and the second in Irish Studies at the National University of Ireland-Galway. He is also a fluent speaker of Irish Gaelic and founder of the Sean-Nós Milwaukee event: the only festival in North America celebrating the Irish language singing tradition. Brian has taught and performed at many festivals in the U.S. and Ireland and has had his singing showcased on Irish and American radio. He currently performs with the Chicago-based group Gan Bua.
